The TV movie airs January 28th.

Acording to the Gulf Islands Driftwood Cameron Bright has donated a signed poster from the New Moon movie with all proceeds to be donated to the Jasmin Wilson Fund.

Wilson is recovering in B.C.’s Children’s Hospital from her second bout of compartment syndrome, a painful inflammatory condition.

To place a bid on the autographed poster, send an email to contest@gulfislands.net.

The top bid will be updated once per day, with the final day for bidding, Friday, Dec. 18 at 12 noon sharp.

The Canwest News service ran a story today about a shoot in the Nanaimo Lakes area of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. This is the area that Cameron and co-star Jodelle Ferland (Bree), live.

"Eclipse did film visual effects shots near Nanaimo for two days last week," said Toni Atterbury with CM Productions Canada.

The Vernon Morning Star published an article recently about Cameron's involvement with B.C. Hydro's online contest called Invent the Future. The contest is expected to inspire B.C.’s best and brightest.

“The overall goal of this campaign is to motivate youth and get them thinking about a sustainable future,” said celebrity judge and Spirit Bear Youth Coalition founder, Simon Jackson.

Other judges include Vancouver Canuck Ryan Kesler, Michael Urie (Ugly Betty), miss604 and community leader Simon Jackson (Spirit Bear Youth Coalition founder).

The contest runs from now to Nov. 8. Submissions can be done individually, or in teams of two.

As the The Twilight Saga: New Moon cast is off to Chicago's Comic Con, including Cameron Bright, this weekend, news has surfaced that Young actress Jodelle Ferland, Tideland, Silent Hill has joined the cast of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, as a vampire who has just been turned says Variety.

Like Cameron, Jodelle is from Nanaimo, BC, I don't know yet if they know each other.

Filming on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is set to begin in Vancouver on August 17th.

Summit Entertainment is moving forward with production on the third Twilight film so fast that it will have finished shooting a month before the release of the second film.

Production weekly reports that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse has set a shooting schedule running from August 17th until October 31st at Vancouver Film Studios. David Slade, 30 Days of Night, will direct from a script by Melissa Rosenberg.

In the third story, Seattle is being plagued by a string of unsolved murders tied to a young vampire out for revenge.

With high school graduation quickly approaching and Edward having proposed marriage, Bella must choose between her love for Edward, Robert Pattinson, and her friendship with Jacob, Taylor Lautner, while the vampires and werewolves wait in the mountains to take on the army of newborns.

The second film, the Chris Weitz-directed The Twilight Saga: New Moon, opens November 20th. It's expected the cast will directly segue from shooting the third film to promotional and publicity work for the second.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is slated to open June 30th 2010.

Cameron Bright has been added as a featured guest for Chicago Comic-Con, August 6-9 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Bright will be one of a host of stars and celebrities signing autographs and meeting fans at the show.

So, I've seen this rumor before and it really doesn't make sense to me.

Director Robert Rodriguez sat down with MTV Movies Blog recently spoke about his plans for a live-action adaptation of The Jetsons, to shoot next year.

"I've been developing [The Jetsons] for awhile," Rodriguez said, adding that he's hoping to start shooting "next year."

While the director did confirm that the film would be live-action, he was predictably mum about other details. Adam F. Goldberg (Fanboys) penned an early draft of the script, but it has since been reworked.

"We're writing the script right now," Rodriguez said excitedly, before declining to drop any hints about the plot or potential casting choices.

The part I don't buy is MovieWeb. predicting a cast of William H. Macy as George, Mary Steenburgen as Jane, his wife, and Cameron Bright as Elroy, Bob Hoskins as Spacely and, why not... Megan Fox as Judy.

Have these people seen how much Cameron has grown in the last couple of years? There's no way he could pull off a believable little boy Elory.

Summit Entertainment has announced that the studio will present a panel for The Twilight Saga: New Moon at the San Diego Comic-Con.

Last year the company held a panel for the Twilight film in the very large Hall H. Not only did the crowds well exceed the room's 6,000 seat capacity, some were camped out for over 24 hours waiting to see the presentation.

This year Summit's panel has been moved to an earlier Thursday presentation, though a specific time has yet to be announced. Various stars from the film are expected to attend and never before seen footage from the film will be screened.

Its to early to say if Cameron Bright will be there, but if invited I'm sure he'll go.

Vancouver's free daily paper 24 Hrs ran an article about fillming wraping up in the coming week and said, "Canadian actor Cameron Bright, was also strolling along Robson with fellow Volturi actor Jamie Campbell Brown."

The recent party at Bluewater Cafe is being called a wrap party. What? Are the gossip sites crazy? They've only been shooting in Vancouver for like two weeks. I thought the Bluewater Cafe party was a little celebration for lead actor Robert Pattinson's recent 23rd Birthday on May 13th.

My friend Michael D. Reid, of the Victoria Times Colonist managed to sit down with Cameron Bright for an interview published on Tuesday.

I didn't realize I'd be doing an interview with a vampire the next time I caught up with Cameron Bright.

Bright, 16, hasn't even started filming his scenes as Alec -- part of the Volturi vampire clan and twin brother of Jane (Dakota Fanning) in the Twilight sequel New Moon -- yet he has been affected by Twilight mania since the day he was cast.

"It's going to be kind of weird," admits the Nanaimo actor, who confesses he had to be dragged to see Twilight, the first in a series of movies based on Stephenie Meyer's popular romantic teenage vampire novels.

"All the guys were saying, 'It's a chick movie,' but it was really good," Bright recalls. "I'm glad to be a part of it."

No sooner had news reports surfaced about Bright joining the New Moon cast headlined by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Michael Sheen than he began getting text messages from his friends.

"Even if you're in it for five minutes, you're huge," says the Victoria-born actor who made his debut in a Telus commercial. "You're revered."

Not surprisingly, he has also been getting more attention from female friends.

"I say 'no' right away, because when they walk up to me I can sense what they're going to say," he says, laughing. " 'Can you get me Robert Pattinson's autograph?'"

Bright, who hadn't read the books, says it was easy finding a Twilight fan to help him research his role.

"I said, 'I'm going to play Alec. Do you know him? Yeah? Sweeeet! Thanks, ya did the job for me.'"

While he hasn't worked with Fanning, he met her at the Critics' Choice Awards in Los Angeles two years ago.

"She didn't know who I was, so when I introduce myself and go, 'Hey, do you remember me?' she'll probably say no," he says, adding he should get to know her quickly on the Vancouver set. "In our first scene I get to kiss her on the cheek."

Since his scenes are interiors, he won't be joining her when exterior Volturi sequences are shot in Tuscany, however.

Now standing tall at 5-foot-10, with longer hair and the demeanour, vocal inflections and lingo of a typical texting teenager, Bright seems worlds away from his younger self -- the cherubic youngster known for playing spooky children.

He savours the memories of getting to work with Hollywood royalty in his first two major movies. He played Adam, the sinister clone of a distraught couple's dead son, opposite Robert De Niro in Godsend; and Sean, a solemn 10-year-old boy claiming to be the reincarnation of the late husband of a fragile New York widow played by Nicole Kidman in Birth.

He even managed to survive a media firestorm that erupted at the Venice Film Festival over a controversial scene in which he removes his clothes and climbs into a bathtub with the Aussie actress before they kiss. (CB edit: they did not kiss in the bath tub and it was a platonic kiss)

Among other roles, Bright has also played a sadistic misfit in The Butterfly Effect; an abused boy who murders his stepdad in Running Scared; the son of Aaron Eckhart's Big Tobacco lobbyist in Thank You for Smoking; maternal mutant babe Milla Jovovich's gifted charge in Ultraviolet; and a mutant child in X:Men The Last Stand.

He can also be seen in two DVD movies -- the horror film Walled In, as the teenage son of a derelict building's disturbed caretaker (Deborah Kara Unger); and the upcoming An American Affair, a thriller/coming-of-age flick set in the early 1960s in which he plays a 13-year-old obsessed with a bombshell (Gretchen Mol) who is romantically linked to John F. Kennedy.

The talkative teen says he has grown accustomed to his fame, as bizarre as it can be.

He laughingly shrugs off the antics of some overzealous fans, such as one who impersonates him on MySpace. "I think it's a riot," says Bright, who has even playfully posed as a fan himself and interacted with the impostor.

"I go 'Hey, how's it going? Must be cool being in all those movies.' "

He isn't complaining, though, realizing it's all part of the acting career he signed up for.

"My fans make me, and if I didn't respect them I wouldn't be here," says Bright, not yet targeted by the tabloids.

"I'm too lovable," he quips, adding "my friend Bob De Niro" has shown him you can be famous and avoid the tabloid glare. "You never really hear about Bob unless he's doing something good, like his Tribeca festival. He's not being derided."

The home-schooled actor is still into soccer and plays for Dover Bay Secondary School. He says living in Nanaimo with his mother Anne and older brother Bryce keeps him grounded.

"This is home," he says. "People don't talk about the business all the time. If I was in L.A., it would be brought up constantly."

Still, he's ready for what the future might bring, especially since Alec's profile increases in the third and fourth books.

"Does Cameron realize how big he's going to be?" a neighbour asked Anne, who is happy her son will be seen in a family movie.

If his profile does rises ridiculously, the actor has a plan to deal with it.

"If I see a girl wearing a T-shirt with my face on it, I'm turning around and walking the other way," he says, laughing. "I would not be able to keep a straight face. I'll run out of the mall."

Website /Film (Slash Film) has released information that French composer Alexandre Desplat will be scoring The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Desplat recieved Academy Award nominations for his contributions to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Queen. His credits have also included The Golden Compass, Girl with a Pearl Earing, and Cameron's earlier film Birth (2004), which stared Nicole Kidman and Lauren Bacall.

Cameron Bright's star is rising fast in Hollywood but his feet are firmly planted on the ground at home in Nanaimo.

The 16-year-old actor will play the vampire brother of Dakota Fanning's character in the next three sequels to the teen blockbuster Twilight.

Although Bright has acted alongside Hollywood stars like Robert De Niro and Nicole Kidman, this role that is likely to catapult him to a whole new level of fame. So-called 'Twi-hards' -- dedicated fans of the series by author Stephenie Meyer -- are already keeping the blogs humming with chatter about Bright and other stars in the movie.

But he puts family first, and says living on Vancouver Island has helped keep him grounded.

"If I didn't live here I think I would probably be that stereotypical actor. In Hollywood everyone wants to be an actor and just flaunt it," he says. "Here they just don't care."

Cameron lives with his 19-year-old brother Bryce and his mother Anne in a rancher in a north Nanaimo neighbourhood. The handsome teen's only flashy toy is a bright red 1997 Camaro that his mother has driven for four years.

"I get my 'N' licence next week," he says.

His brother Bryce, who is studying to become an accountant, says Cameron still "cares about family," but says the film industry has had an effect.

"He's had to grow up a lot faster," Bryce, says. "He's had to take on some responsibilities other kids his age don't have to, like dealing with media.

"And he's making money, so he has to know how to deal with it and not be wasteful."

Cameron attended high school at Dover Bay Secondary School until last year, when he enroled in the learn-at-home program, which is better suited to the erratic, jet-set lifestyle of a professional actor.

He doesn't really miss the social life of high school. He says he has a few friends from Nanaimo District Secondary, where learn-at-home is based, who he likes to hang out with. But generally he likes to keep a low profile.

"I don't really hang out with a lot of people because too many people have just not been real friends," he says.

"It's high school stuff, talk behind your back. Everyone likes to party and I don't really like to party. I'd rather hang out with a few friends and make our own party. It's more personal."

The glare of public life can be difficult. "If I start a relationship with a girl and I tell one person in the morning, after lunch I get 30 e-mails: 'Are you going out with so-and-so?'"

He's about to learn the real meaning of media glare.

"Right now everybody knows I'm in Twilight. I've got friends in Campbell River texting me: 'You're on the radio and in newspapers. It's blowing up because it's such a huge thing."

Cameron says he is ready for fame.

"When I signed up to be an actor I knew if I want a career and to be famous, I'll have to deal with fans - not only deal with them but they're my lifeline. They're the ones who are going to (see) my movies."

Like any 16-year-old, Bright likes video games and chatting on MSN.

"I'm kind of dead right now because my brother took the PS-3 and the power cable for my laptop."

He's a huge fan of rap, especially Lil' Wayne.

"You've got to get past the swear words," he says. A line in Lil' Wayne's song "3 Peat" has special meaning that resonates for him: "When I was 14 I told my mom we will see better days, and sure enough we did exactly what I say."

The words remind Cameron of a time when he was 8 and his teary-eyed mother told him she'd lost her job at Telus.

He kissed her on the cheek and told her everything would work out. Two weeks later they got the news he had been chosen for a role in Godsend, alongside Robert De Niro, and he's never looked back since.

Robert Pattinson will soon be joined on the Vancouver set of New Moon by some new cast members. Hot on the heels of the additions of British star Jamie Campbell Smith and War Of The Worlds actress Dakota Fanning, it's been announced that Canadian talents Graham Greene and Cameron Bright have also been signed up.

British Columbia-born actor Cameron will fly back to his homeland to start work on the highly-anticipated follow up to last year's Twilight after he's completed crime drama 11:11 in California. He's been cast to portray Alec, the brother of Dakota's character Jane, and a Volturi member whose special power is his ability to block other beings' senses.

Meanwhile, actor Graham Greene is due to play Harry Clearwater, the elder of the Quileute Native American people. Graham – who was born on the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario – was previously nominated for an Oscar for his work in Dancing With Wolves alongside Kevin Costner.

The Canadian duo will be joined by British Frost/Nixon actor Michael Sheen. He will be portraying Aro, the leader of the sinister Volturi clan, which is determined to keep the existence of vampires secret from humans. Michael is no stranger to vampire movies, having appeared in this year's Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans.

New Role, New Moon

Just announced Cameron Bright has won the role of Alec in The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Cameron's character is the evil twin brother to Dakota Fanning's Jane.

New Moon, the sequel to the fangirl favorite movie of last year Twilight, will shoot in and around Vancouver instead of Oregon where the last film was shot.

Entertainment news giant ET has promised new footage and coverage of the vampire laden series of movies on April 23rd, that's next Thursday.

Other cast announced include: Michael Sheen as Aro, the Volturi leader. Charlie Bewley is one of the new member just announced and has been selected to play Demetri. Daniel Cudmore, will play Felix. Cudmore played Colossus in X-Men 3 with Cameron.

Jamie Campbell Bower (Sweeney Todd) rounds out the top member of the Volturi as Caius. Christopher Heyerdahl will be Marcus. Noot Seear is the Volturi member Heidi. Two additional actors have joined the Quileute Indian Nation cast, Graham Greene as Harry Clearwater, tribal leader and Tinsel Korey will portray Emily, Sam Uley’s financee.

The Summit Entertainment press release also confirmed the return of all the original cast members from Twilight.

I interviewed Cameron back in 2004, just as he was about to leave for Shanghai to shoot Ultraviolet with Milla Jovovich, and I asked him what it was that he liked about the script. He said it was the Vampires, he always liked movies with vampires, now in New Moon he actually gets to play one.

The fictional account of the mistress of President John F. Kennedy has found a distributor - and it has a new title.

The independent film was shoot under the tittle Boy of Pigs during principal photography in Baltimore in late 2006. But now it's called An American Affair. Producer Kevin Leydon says he loved the original title but thinks the new title will help the movie reach a wider audience.

An American Affair is set for release in New York and Washington, D.C. on Feb. 27. It will open in Los Angeles on March 6 and in Boston on March 13. Leydon says wider distribution will depend on how it fares at the box office. There is no Canadian opening dates yet.

The film stars Gretchen Mol as JFK's mistress and Nanaimo's Cameron Bright as a 13-year-old boy who befriends her. It's being distributed by Screen Media Films.

Walled in release

Walled In will finally be reveled, as Anchor Bay Entertainment releases the film on DVD March 17th.

Final specs on the films length and features with the DVD have yet to be announced .

The film by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, staring Mischa Barton as a demolition company rep supervising the razing of a mysterious building and discovers horrifying secrets and past inhabitants entombed within its walls by a vicious murderer.

Walled In review

Fangoria reviews the American Film Market, and in doing so took a look at Cameron Bright's role in Walled In.

WALLED IN: In this Canadian production, Mischa (THE O.C.) Barton stars as a demolition company engineer (not as unbelievable as it sounds) whose latest job takes her to an imposing building in the middle of nowhere. The gray place has a cursed past; several people were buried alive within the walls or covered in cement—including, supposedly, the strange architect who built the residence. The demo expert meets the icy landlord (CRASH’s Deborah Unger) and her teen son (a still off-balance Cameron Bright, of GODSEND and BIRTH), and eventually winds up in line to be the abode’s next victim. Based on a best-selling French novel called LES EMMEURES, WALLED IN has a few extreme moments (the opening offers a child being covered in wet concrete), and the photography by Karim (THE ABANDONED) Hussain generates its share of goosebumps. But overall, the movie rates as a mostly dreary and dull affair. Evidently, postproduction tampering and squabbles between director Gilles Paquet-Brenner and the producers weakened WALLED IN’s foundation.

While Cameron Bright did not pick-up the Leo award that he was nominated for, his presence at the ceremonies did garner a mention in the Vancouver Sun Newspaper.

B.C. native Cameron Bright, who is a mere 15 years ago, has already acted with Nicole Kidman (Birth) and Robert De Niro (Godsend). He was pretty young when he appeared with them, even younger than he is now. He is one of the those actors who seems to have seamlessly traversed the boundaries between Hollywood and Hollywood North.

With a poise that belies his years, he said simply of his older peers at the Leo ceremony, "I love them all. I have seen a lot of their work."

BC's Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Foundation has nominated Cameron Bright as Best Supporting Actor for his work on the Victoria shoot film Normal.

Normal, Carl Bessai's ensemble drama about intertwining lives of characters affected by a tragedy, led the local pack with 11 nominations, including best feature-length drama, best director and best screenwriting.

Other honours garnered by Normal included nominations for best actor (Callum Keith Rennie, Tygh Runyon), actress (Camille Sullivan), supporting actress (Britt Irvin and Lauren Lee Smith), cinematography and editing.

The Leo Awards were established in 1998 to celebrate excellence in B.C. film and television production. The 10th annual awards ceremony takes place May 23 and 24 at Vancouver's Westin Bayshore.

More details on Walled In. Seems Cameron was offered this film in June 2006 and was set to film in Argentina, but things have changed in the last year and a bit and now filming will be a little closer to home in, Saskatchewan starting in mid-October, brrrr.

Cameron's love interest in this thriller is Mischa Barton (The OC).

Also, next week Cameron is in LA to do a mix and match screen test for a major project filming in January. I'll let you know what's up with that as soon as I hear.

According to Variety, Mischa Barton, Deborah Kara Unger (of Vancouver) and Cameron Bright will star in Walled In, a psychological thriller to be the first production financed and produced by Leomax Entertainment.

The film marks the English-language debut of French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Pretty Things), who previously directed Gomez and Tavares and Les jolies choses. Paquet-Brenner scripted.

Based on Serge Broselot's bestselling French novel Les Emmeures, the picture casts Barton as a demolition company rep who supervises the razing of a mysterious building and discovers horrifying secrets and past inhabitants entombed within its walls by a vicious murderer.

Shooting on the French-Canadian co-production begins Oct. 22 in Saskatchewan.

Ratatouille marks a distinct progression in Pixar's ability to blend human characters with animals, so why not create an animated inter-species mystery? Think of it as Rear Window (or Disturbia, for you young readers out there) meets Winged Migration (or Valiant for the three of you that saw that one). A family of cardinals (featuring father Jon Cryer, mother Christina Applegate, daughter Miley Cyrus, and son Cameron Bright) are the nosiest birds in town. While the hummingbirds, blue jays, and pigeons happily exist in their own avian communities, the cardinals are busy spying on the humans whose birdbaths they drink from and whose trees they hang out in. You know where this is going - one day, the cardinals see something they shouldn't (it doesn't have to be a murder if the Pixar powers that be think that is too scary for the little ones), and then team together with the other birds to bring justice to their 'hood. It's filled with lessons about doing the right thing and teamwork which them Disney folks will LOVE. This thing writes itself. Plus, you get Elvis Costello to handle all of the music, he gets an Oscar, and everyone goes home happy.

Annimation World Network announced that, Barry Sonnenfeld, known for blockbusters such as the MEN IN BLACK and ADDAMS FAMILY films, is taking his first venture into animated feature film as a creative consultant on SPACE CHIMPS. Announced by CEO of Vanguard Films and Animation John Williams, Sonnenfeld's involvement with the intergalactic comedy dates back to the early production stages last fall.

Williams also announced the cast, including Andy Samberg (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), Cheryl Hines (CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM), Jeff Daniels (DUMB AND DUMBER), Kenan Thompson (SNAKES ON A PLANE), Stanley Tucci (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA), Kristin Chenoweth (THE WEST WING), Patrick Warburton (FAMILY GUY), and Kath Soucie (HELLBOY ANIMATED: BLOOD AND IRON). Also in the cast are Carlos Alazraqui, Cameron Bright, Patrick Breen, Omid Abtahi, and Jane Lynch. The film is written and directed by Kirk DeMicco (RACING STRIPES). Joel Sill (FORREST GUMP) will supervise the music, with musician/songwriter Dave Stewart composing the music for the Alien Band plus additional music, environments and sound design by Blue Man Group.

SPACE CHIMPS is an intergalactic comedy focused on astronaut chimps in space that show they have as much of "the wrong stuff" as "the right stuff". Ham III (Samberg), the slacker grandson of the first chimp in space, becomes enticed to return to the space program with two other chimps for a mission. The film is a Starz Media Presentation of a Vanguard Animated Film in Association with Odyssey Entertainment for international sales administration.

Nanaimo, BC's youth soccer season has now concluded for most local teams and year-end award winners have been recognized.

Top squads from league play in the various age divisions were acknowledged by president Peter Hertzberg at the Nanaimo District Youth Soccer Association’s annual general meeting. Space limitations didn’t permit recognition of some of those teams in last week’s column, so let’s catch up on them before going any further…

From the U14 boys’ league, year-end tournament winners were the Nanaimo Raiders, coached by Greg Biscoe and Ward Norcutt. On the roster were players Tyler Biscoe, Myles Bagger, Nic Cowdrey, Kyle Edwards, Braeden Phillips, Byron Miller, Blair Landry, Tyler Leard, Sam Norcutt, Alex Vanderbert, Daniel Cameron, Jordan Trebett, Mike Ramsey, Adam Betz and Cameron Bright.

Also holding its annual general meeting to wrap up the year was the Nanaimo Youth Soccer Club, the largest local group operating within the NDYSA organization. Those in attendance saw Anup Kang returned for another term as president and heard that registration in the club had increased to over 2,000 youth players for the past season. From among that large group, a select few were the recipients of prestigious individual awards announced at the meeting. My thanks to club executive director Shawn Fiddick for passing along the names of the winners.

Wrap for X-Mas

Kirk Shaw's Insight team is wrapping up filming of Christmas in Wonderland, featuring Patrick Swayze, Chris Kattan, Preston Lacey, Cameron Bright, Matthew Knight and Zoe and Amy Schlagel. Although the company is Vancouver based, the film was being shot in Edmonton.

The neat thing about the film, says unit publicist Joshua Semchuk, is the cavernous, famous West Edmonton Mall plays a major part in the movie. It's not just any mall but is identified as the real thing.

West Edmonton Mall remains full of the holiday spirit with trees and festive decorations sprinkled throughout as the cast of Christmas in Wonderland kicks into high gear. The holiday flick starring Ray Liotta, Leslie Nielsen and Chris Kattan began filming on location earlier this week.

The movie is about a family lacking in Christmas spirit because they moved away from their American home to Edmonton just days before Christmas.

The younger stars of the film arrived in Edmonton Friday and say they can't get enough of the mall, including Galaxyland and the water park.

"The little girls are so much fun," said Mackenzie Porter, sister of Canadian Idol's Kalan Porter. She plays the role of Shane, the blond bombshell and the love interest of Cameron Bright, who plays Danny. Amy and Zoe Schlagel are two young twins keeping the cast's spirits high. The seven-year-old girls both play the part of Mary, the youngest sister in the family. "I am the most goodest girl in the family," Zoe said about her role of Mary.

In reality, Zoe said she and her sister are both good and bad with a penchant for playing tricks on people. They've been taking belongings from their castmates and hiding them to get a good giggle. Besides being an actor, Zoe says she wants to be an artist, police chief, singer or scientist.
Santa Claus has not made an appearance for the filming yet, but Zoe says she's sure the director will let her know when the big day is approaching. Christmas in Wonderland is due out later this year.

Apparently now finnished with his role on Normal, Cameron Bright is off to Edmonton for shooting of his next film, Christmas in Wonderland.

The Edmonton Journal says the plot of Christmas in Wonderland revolves around a family that moves from Los Angeles to Edmonton. On Christmas Eve, they go to the mall to do some last-minute shopping. The six-year-old daughter (played by L.A. twins, Zoe and Amy Schlagel) is enthralled by the mall and becomes convinced Santa lives somewhere inside it, instead of at the North Pole.

Cast with Cameron are Ray Liotta, Leslie Nielsen and Chris Kattan. So far only a few other cast have been named, like Matthew Knight and Preston Lacy

*** UPDATE *** It seems that while he is still listed on IMDB as being on this project, that Roy Liotta has steeped out of his role.

Cameron has become part of Stargate's ninth season trading card set, coming out at the end of March. The set features cast and characters from the Vancouver shot series' ninth season in which Cameron played Orlin in the two part episode, The Fourth Horseman.

Recently the The Associated Press ran an article picked up by many papers, about Gretchen Mol the 34 year old actress from The Notorious Bettie Page, that is now working with Cameron Bright on Boy of Pigs.

the film is described as an independent coming-of-age drama set in 1963, in which Mol stars as a JFK paramour who befriends her 13-year-old neighbor (Cameron Bright). Like "Bettie," it's a role that caters to her sexy but sweet persona.

One of Canada's top film and television acting coaches is coming to Powell River.

Jacqui Kaese, founder of Nanaimo's Spotlight Academy for Actors and Models, will be in town Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19 for three workshops and a free question-and-answer session.

"The information session is geared toward people who just want a general background in terms of what's available and how feasible it is living in Powell River," she told the Peak in a telephone interview.

The workshops are geared toward people who have little or no acting experience and will cover basics and pitfalls, helping hopeful actors market and motivate themselves.

Kaese said technology is enabling people from rural and remote communities to be seen and heard by industry professionals through the use of audition tapes.

"We've persuaded casting directors that we're a force to be reckoned with and through modern technology we've become more available," she said. "We've gone from being able to courier VHS tapes to emailing audition pieces."

She said there is still some skepticism and naivetie around remote auditions, but a lot of film crews in the United States will now accept taped auditions.

"At some point or other they've got to be prepared to make the journey," she said, adding that most commercial work requires actors to audition in person. "When you're in Vancouver, it's a 20-minute commute to the studios. With us, it can be an overnight trip," she said.

Because of the distance, Kaese said it's important for hopeful actors to know what it takes to market themselves in the business.

Kaese has more than 1,500 hours of on-set coaching experience, collected over 25 years of working in film, TV and commercials. Spotlight Academy's alumni include Cameron Bright, star of X-Men: The Last Stand and Thank You For Smoking; Colin Ford, star of Dog Days and Dungeon Siege and Blake Woodruff, from Cheaper by the Dozen 1 and 2. Kaese's latest success story is Beau Mirchoff, appearing on screen as one of the leads in Scary Movie 4.

Indie film brings a pair of rising stars to town

The cresting talents of Gretchen Mol, fresh off the personal success of The Notorious Bettie Page, and Cameron Bright, the child actor who provided a controversial cure for mutants in X-Men: The Last Stand, converge in Baltimore this month for the filming of a low-budget independent movie, Boy of Pigs -- a play on the Bay of Pigs.

Set in 1963, in the swirl of glamour and intrigue that turned President John F. Kennedy's Washington into Camelot, the movie traces the coming of age of a lonely 13-year-old Catholic school boy. Bright (also memorable in Thank You for Smoking) glimpses the nude beauty of the artist across the street (Mol), and decides to find out everything he can about her.

She's one of JFK's lovers and the ex-wife of a top-ranked CIA operative. And she appears to be conducting her own back-channel negotiations among the CIA, Kennedy and the Cubans in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Producer Kevin Leydon says a combination of factors brought Boy of Pigs to Baltimore, including Maryland's wage rebates for film productions, the architecture of the neighborhoods, the hands-on assistance of the city and state film offices, and the vaunted "film-friendliness" of the area.

But a single factor brought him and first-time feature director William Olsson onto the project and attracted their top-flight cast: the distinction of Alex Metcalf's script.

Mol, he says, feels so strongly about it she's commuting between Baltimore for Boy of Pigs and New Mexico, where she's simultaneously co-starring in the big-budget Russell Crowe-Christian Bale remake of the classic Glenn Ford Western, 3:10 to Yuma. (Walk the Line's James Mangold directs that one.)

Baltimore neighborhoods such as Bolton Hill and Mount Vernon are standing in for Georgetown circa 1963. A full complement of Baltimore's film talent makes up the key crew, including cinematographer David Insley of The Wire and production designer Vincent Peranio, who has contributed to the collected works of John Waters as well as David Simon's The Corner and The Wire and Barry Levinson's Homicide: Life on the Street and Liberty Heights.

Will America lose its innocence on the big screen once again, in the wake of JFK's assassination?

Probably, but producer Leydon promises that Metcalf's deft writing ("there've been no rewrites!") and Olsson's "great eye" make it fresh.

And, for now, it will give Bolton Hill and Mount Vernon residents a chance to catch two of Hollywood's most talented and talked-about actors in the flesh.

The satirical comedy stars Aaron Eckhart as Big Tobacco's chief spokesman Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son, played by Cameron.

Ultraviolet opened this Oscar weekend with $9Million. A little lower than we had hoped.

The says "The amount of special effects in this film makes The Fifth Element look like Grizzly Man by comparison."

Utraviolet has a certain streamlined vision and uniformity of purpose, courtesy of the fact that it is both written and directed by Kurt Wimmer.

Nanaimo February 24, 2006: Spotlight Academy wishes to congratulate young Cameron Bright on the success of his three movies releasing within a month of each other. Tonight sees the premiere of the gritty Running Scared in which Cameron plays Oleg, a young boy who steals a gun from his best friend’s house. When the father, Paul Walker star of Eight Below and 2 Fast 2 Furious, discovers the weapon is missing, he has to find it before his mob bosses or the police.

One week later, March 3, Ultraviolet, the Sci-Fi drama from director Kurt Wimmer (Equilibrium) begins. Mila Jovovich (The Fifth Element, Resident Evil) stars as Violet, a rogue warrior bent on destroying a government time bomb designed to destroy her people. When she discovers the device is a nine-year-old boy (Cameron) she has to face an army of government warriors and keep them from the boy.

March 17th sees the limited North American release of Thank You For Smoking starring Aaron Eckhart, Cameron Bright and Adam Brody. Eckhart plays Nick, (as in nicotine) a tobacco lobbyist who works hard to debate the issues in favor of his employers until he discovers the role model he has become to his son (Cameron).

Cameron appeared in a double episode of Vancouver based Stargate SG-1 last year and has previous television credits on Dark Angel and Higher Ground. Cameron’s film credits include The Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kutcher, Godsend with Robert De Niro, and Birth with Nicole Kidman and Lauren Bacall.

When he’s not working on a film set or attending grade 8 classes in Nanaimo or just being a kid, 13 year-old Victoria born Cameron is coached for up coming projects at Nanaimo’s Spotlight Academy. Instructors Jacqui Kaese (recently coaching Blake Woodruff on the set of Hellion) and her team including Bart Anderson, Adrian Hough (The Fog) and Marina Darling, have assisted in taking students to a whole new level.

Well, I wondered how long it would take? (see my January prediction in Attractions) Two large movies both staring the same 13 year-old kid both set to hit theatres on the same day, one of them had to give. Cameron Bright started shoting Ultraviolet two years ago and Running Sacared right after that, now the two films were set for release on February 24th, but one company moved their film out of the battle.

Ultraviolet moved to March 31st, a full five weeks later. Problem is, this put the film up against Ice Age 2, Basic Instinct 2 and Vancouver made Slither where it was sure to be buried at the box-office. So another move, this time to March 3rd were fewer big films are there to fight it off. Only the Bruce Willis thriller 16 Blocks and some teen girl comedy called Aquamarine.

Right now HSX is putting Running Scared at H$17.35 and Ultraviolet at H$35.18 with a recent +2.25 move. Cameron's H$10.87 could move higher if these films make their box-office targets.

Mila Jovovich has posted 23 new images from Ultraviolet on her own website. I wont repost all of them here, so you might want to take a jump over to Mila's site. Ultaviolet is set to hit theatres on February 24, 2006 along with Running Scared, both films star Cameron Bright. That should be interesting.

Google alerted me to the posting of this new international image for the upcoming Ultraviolet film being released Feb 24th. CanMag posted a revised synopsis for the film.
Set in the late 21st century, a subculture of humans have emerged who have been modified genetically by a vampire-like disease (Hemophagia), giving them enhanced speed, incredible stamina and acute intelligence, and as they are set apart from "normal" and "healthy" humans, the world is pushed to the brink of worldwide civil war (a war between humans and hemophages) aimed at the destruction of the "diseased" population. In the middle of this crossed-fire is - an infected woman - Ultraviolet (Jovovich), who finds herself protecting a nine-year-old boy (Cameron Bright) who has been marked for death by the human government as he is believed to be a threat to humans.

I just found out that Sony's Screen Gems has released a new image from the upcoming Ultraviolet movie. There hasn’t been much information about this shot in China Sci-Fi / Vampire flick staring Milla Jovovich and Nanaimo’s Cameron Bright. There is currently no release date for Ultravioletbut the released image is promising as very little has been seen since the movie was wrapped over a year ago.
